अम्बाया रामजामदग्न्यशरणगमनम्
Ambā Seeks Refuge with Rāma Jāmadagnya
किमियं वक्ष्यतीत्येवं विममर्श भगूद्वह: । इति दध्यौ चिरं राम: कृपयाभिपरिप्लुत:,भीष्मजी कहते हैं--राजन्! उसके सुन्दर रूप, नूतन (तरुण) शरीर तथा अत्यन्त सुकुमारताको देखकर परशुरामजी चिन्तामें पड़ गये कि न जाने यह क्या कहेगी? उसके प्रति दयाभावसे परिपूर्ण हो भूगुकुलभूषण परशुराम बहुत देरतक उसीके विषयमें चिन्ता करते रहे
kim iyaṁ vakṣyatīty evaṁ vimamarśa bhagūd-vahaḥ | iti dadhyau ciraṁ rāmaḥ kṛpayābhipariplutaḥ ||
Bhīṣma disse: “Ó rei, o mais eminente entre os Bhṛgu ponderou: ‘O que dirá esta mulher?’ Rāma (Paraśurāma), inundado de compaixão, refletiu por muito tempo.”
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights ethical restraint and empathy: before acting, a powerful figure pauses to understand the vulnerable person’s words and circumstances, letting compassion guide deliberation rather than impulse.
Bhīṣma narrates that Paraśurāma, seeing the woman’s youth and fragility, becomes concerned about what she will say and, moved by compassion, reflects at length on her case before proceeding.
