अम्बाया रामजामदग्न्यशरणगमनम्
Ambā Seeks Refuge with Rāma Jāmadagnya
परम कथ्यतां चेति तां राम: प्रत्यभाषत । ततः: साभ्यगमद् रामं ज्वलन्तमिव पावकम्
param kathyatāṃ ceti tāṃ rāmaḥ pratyabhāṣata | tataḥ sābhyagamad rāmaṃ jvalantam iva pāvakam ||
Rāma (Paraśurāma) respondeu-lhe: “Então, diz o que é mais importante.” Em seguida, a donzela aproximou-se de Rāma, que ardia como o fogo; com reverência, veio apresentar sua súplica diante de um ancião poderoso, na esperança de que daí viessem o conselho justo e a ação conforme ao dharma.
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights disciplined speech and respectful approach: when invited to state the essential matter, one should present it directly and with reverence, especially before a powerful authority whose actions can shape dharma.
Paraśurāma tells the maiden to speak her most important request; she then approaches him, described as blazing like fire, indicating his formidable energy and the gravity of the appeal being brought before him.
