Pāṇḍava-senā-niryāṇa and Vyūha-vibhāga (पाण्डवसेनानिर्याण तथा व्यूहविभाग)
त्वं कालचोदितो नून॑ गन्तुकामो यमक्षयम् | गच्छस्वाहवमस्माभिस्तच्च श्वो भविता श्रुवम्,'परंतु तू निश्चय ही कालसे प्रेरित हो यमलोकमें जाना चाहता है (इसीलिये संधिकी बात नहीं मान सका)। अच्छा, हमारे साथ युद्धमें चल। कल निश्चय ही युद्ध होगा
tvaṁ kālacodito nūnaṁ gantukāmo yamakṣayam | gacchasvāhavam asmābhis tac ca śvo bhavitā śruvam ||
Disse Sañjaya: “Certamente és impelido pelo próprio Tempo, desejoso de ir ao reino imperecível de Yama; por isso não pudeste aceitar o caminho da reconciliação. Pois bem—vem à batalha contra nós. Amanhã, sem dúvida, a guerra acontecerá.”
संजय उवाच
The verse frames refusal of peace as being ‘driven by Kāla’—a moral warning that when one ignores wise counsel and reconciliation, events move toward inevitable destruction; it highlights the tension between human choice and the momentum of fate.
Sañjaya, speaking in the context of failed negotiations, declares that the addressee is bent on death and therefore would not accept a settlement; he then calls for readiness to fight, asserting that battle will certainly occur the next day.
