वायुदेव उवाच
This verse is a colophon rather than a teaching verse: it signals that the chapter focused on Kuntī’s counsel has concluded, emphasizing the Mahābhārata’s framing of moral instruction (dharma-oriented advice) as a structured, authoritative unit within the larger narrative of impending conflict.
The text is marking a transition point: the chapter within Udyoga Parva—specifically in the Bhagavad-yāna Parvan—has ended. It indicates that the preceding content centered on Kuntī’s speech, and the narrative is poised to move to the next segment of events and deliberations leading toward the Kurukṣetra war.
