Nārada disse: O rei, ao ver quatro governantes, caiu no meio deles.

Worldly and even heavenly status is not permanent; when merit is spent or pride clouds discernment, one falls. The verse functions as a reminder that one’s trajectory is governed by karma and inner qualities, not by rank alone.
As Yayāti is descending and worrying about his fate, he sees four eminent kings in Naimiṣāraṇya and falls into their midst; Nārada narrates this moment as a turning point leading to further dialogue and moral reflection.
