वाचको भरतमश्रेष्ठ व्यक्ताक्षरपदस्वर: | भविष्यं श्रावयेद् विद्वान् भारतं भरतर्षभ
vācako bharataśreṣṭha vyaktākṣarapadasvaraḥ | bhaviṣyaṃ śrāvayed vidvān bhārataṃ bharatarṣabha ||
Vaiśampāyana disse: “Ó melhor dos Bhāratas, o recitador deve ser um homem erudito, articulando com clareza cada sílaba, palavra e acento. Assim ele deve fazer com que o Bhārata seja ouvido — ó touro entre os Bhāratas — e também recitar a seção Bhaviṣya (conforme a tradição do Harivaṃśa).”
