द्रोणपर्वणि विप्रेभ्यो भोजनं परमार्चितम्
droṇaparvaṇi viprebhyo bhojanaṃ paramārcitam
Vaiśampāyana disse: “No Droṇa Parva, uma refeição—honrada da maneira mais elevada—foi oferecida aos brāhmaṇas.” A linha ressalta a insistência ética da epopeia: mesmo em meio à violência e ao tumulto da guerra, deve-se manter a reverência aos vipras, hóspedes sagrados e eruditos, e o dever de hospitalidade (atithi-satkāra).
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse underscores dharma through atithi-satkara and dāna: even in a context shaped by war narratives, the tradition insists on honoring brāhmaṇas and maintaining sacred duties of hospitality and reverence.
The narrator notes that, in connection with the events of the Droṇa Parva, brāhmaṇas were given a meal that was treated as highly honored—suggesting a formal, respectful offering rather than ordinary feeding.
