धृतराष्ट्रस्य मूर्च्छा—व्यासोपदेशः
Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Collapse and Vyāsa’s Counsel
तं च प्राप्पय महीपालं कृतकृत्या भविष्यसि । उसकी बात सुनकर विश्ववन्दित भगवान् विष्णुने देवसभामें पृथ्वीकी ओर देखकर हँसते हुए कहा--'शुभे! धृतराष्ट्रके सौ पुत्रोंमें जो सबसे बड़ा और दुर्योधननामसे विख्यात है, वही तेरा कार्य सिद्ध करेगा। उसे राजाके रूपमें पाकर तू कृतार्थ हो जायगी || २५-२६ ई | तस्यार्थे पृथिवीपाला: कुरुक्षेत्र समागता:
taṁ ca prāpya mahīpālaṁ kṛtakṛtyā bhaviṣyasi | tasyārthe pṛthivīpālāḥ kurukṣetra-samāgatāḥ ||
Tendo obtido esse rei, considerarás cumprido o teu propósito. Por causa dele, os governantes da terra reuniram-se em Kurukṣetra — uma convergência de mau agouro em que a ambição pessoal e o destino arrastam reinos inteiros para um único campo de conflito, preparando o cenário para vastas consequências morais.
व्यास उवाच
Individual aims—such as securing a particular ruler or outcome—can trigger consequences that engulf many others; the verse underscores how personal desire and political choices can summon collective suffering, making ethical responsibility extend beyond private intentions.
The speaker states that once the addressed person obtains the king, her objective will be fulfilled; then it notes that for his sake the kings of the earth gathered at Kurukṣetra, foreshadowing the large-scale mobilization that culminates in war.
