आपद्धर्मे वैश्यवृत्तिः, विक्रय-निषेधाः, तथा ब्रह्म-क्षत्र-सम्बन्धः

यमाश्रित्य नरा राजन वर्तयेयुर्यथासुखम् । अनाथास्तप्यमानाश्व दस्युभि: परिपीडिता:
yam āśritya narā rājan vartayeyur yathāsukham | anāthās tapyamānāś ca dasyubhiḥ paripīḍitāḥ ||
Bhishma disse: “Ó rei, os homens devem poder viver em conforto ao tomar refúgio naquele que oferece proteção. Os desamparados, aflitos e oprimidos por salteadores devem considerar tal protetor como um parente e honrá-lo com alegre respeito. Pois, ó o melhor dos Kurus, aquele que, sem temor, repetidas vezes afasta os perigos alheios é verdadeiramente digno de honra régia.”
