The verse links spiritual attainment to disciplined effort joined with purity and devotion: ritual purification (Bhava-snana) and sincere praise of Śiva through authoritative hymns are presented as causes for reaching Svarga, emphasizing that inner intent and sustained practice lead to higher states.
Sūrya explains why a particular brāhmaṇa attained heaven: he performed a Śaiva purificatory bath, praised Śaṅkara using Saṃhitā-mantras, and exerted himself with a clear goal of reaching Svarga; as a result, he went to the divine realm (Tridiva).
