Transliteration

iti śrīmahābhārate śāntiparvaṇi mokṣadharmaparvaṇi nārāyaṇīye catuḥṣaṭcatvāriṃśad-adhika-triśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ |

Translation

Disse Vaiśampāyana: “Assim termina, no Śrī Mahābhārata, dentro do Śānti Parva—em particular na seção Mokṣa-dharma—o trecho Nārāyaṇīya: o capítulo trezentos e quarenta e quatro, que trata da glória de Nārāyaṇa.” Trata-se de um colofão formal que assinala a conclusão do capítulo e o situa nos ensinamentos éticos e libertadores do Śānti Parva.
