अदृश्येतां महाराज तदद्भुतमिवा भवत् । उन्हें देखकर वे पूर्ववत् निःशंक मनसे उनके ऊपर चढ़ गये। फिर तो वे दोनों पर्ववशिखर सहसा दो भागोंमें बँट गये और बीचसे फटे हुए-से दिखायी देने लगे। महाराज! यह एक अद्भुत-सी बात हुई
adṛśyetāṃ mahārāja tad adbhutam iva abhavat |
Bhīṣma disse: “Ó rei, eles tornaram-se invisíveis; foi como se algo maravilhoso tivesse acontecido. Ao vê-los, os outros —agora sem temor no espírito— subiram sobre eles como antes. Então, de súbito, os dois picos da montanha se partiram em duas partes e pareceram como que rasgados pelo meio. Ó rei, isto foi de fato um prodígio.”
