देवतापितृप्रश्नः — Nārada at Badarīāśrama: the ultimate referent of daiva and pitṛ worship
सम्पतन् देहजालानि कदाचिदिह मानुषे । ब्राह्म॒ण्यं लभते जन्तुस्तत् पुत्र परिपालय
sampatan dehajālāni kadācid iha mānuṣe | brāhmaṇyaṁ labhate jantus tat putra paripālaya ||
Vyāsa disse: “Vagando pelas muitas malhas da existência corporificada, no mundo humano um ser vivo só raramente alcança o estado e a disciplina de um brāhmaṇa. Portanto, meu filho, guarda e preserva essa brāhmanidade—não a deixes perder-se.”
व्यास उवाच
Brāhmaṇahood—understood as a hard-won ethical and spiritual discipline—is rare to attain in human life; once obtained, it must be carefully protected through right conduct, restraint, and fidelity to dharma.
Vyāsa addresses his son, warning that beings pass through many embodied conditions and only seldom reach the state of brāhmaṇya; he urges the son to preserve that status and its duties rather than squander it.
