Impermanence, Svabhāva, and Śuka’s Resolve for Yoga
अथोक्तश्न महाराज राजा गन्धर्वसत्तम: । पृष्टवाननुपूर्वेण प्रश्नमर्थविदुत्तमम्
atho'ktaś ca mahārāja rājā gandharva-sattamaḥ | pṛṣṭavān anupūrveṇa praśnam artha-vid-uttamam ||
Disse Yājñavalkya: «Ó grande rei, depois de ouvir o que foi dito, o mais eminente entre os Gandharvas —o rei— apresentou suas perguntas em devida sequência, questões do mais alto peso, feitas por quem verdadeiramente conhece o sentido. Então eu disse ao rei dos Gandharvas: “Ó rei, levantaste, uma após outra, excelentes perguntas. Conheces o seu propósito. Espera um pouco; enquanto isso refletirei sobre essas tuas questões.” Dizendo: “Muito bem”, o rei gandharva permaneceu sentado em silêncio.»
