अव्यक्त–प्रकृति–इन्द्रियविचारः

The Unmanifest, Prakṛtis, and the Sense-Complex

न माता न पिता किंचित्‌ कस्यचित्‌ प्रतिपद्यते । दानपथ्यौदनो जनन्‍्तु: स्वकर्मफलमश्रुते,माता और पिता भी परलोक-साधनमें किसीकी कुछ सहायता नहीं कर सकते। परलोकके पथमें तो अपना किया हुआ दान अर्थात्‌ त्याग ही राहखर्चका काम देता है। प्रत्येक जीव अपने कर्मका ही फल भोगता है

na mātā na pitā kiñcit kasyacit pratipadyate | dānapathyau-dano jantuḥ svakarmaphalam aśnute ||

Parāśara disse: Nem mãe nem pai podem, de fato, assegurar coisa alguma a quem quer que seja no caminho para o além. Para a jornada ao outro mundo, a própria dádiva—renúncia e caridade—serve como provisão de viagem. Cada ser vivo, ao fim, apenas colhe o fruto de seus próprios atos.

Moral and spiritual responsibility is ultimately individual: even parents cannot transfer merit or guarantee one’s welfare beyond; one’s own charity/renunciation and one’s own actions determine the results one experiences.
