अन्वशासच्च भर्तरें समाहूयाभिजल्पति । सास-ससुरके सामने ही बहू सेवकोंपर शासन करने लगी है। वह पतिको भी आदेश देती है और सबके सामने पतिको बुलाकर उससे बात करती है
anvaśāsac ca bhartāraṃ samāhūyābhijalpati | sāśvaśura-sāmne hi vadhūḥ sevakān prati śāsanaṃ karoti | sā patim api ājñāpayati sarveṣāṃ purataḥ patim āhūya tena saha jalpati ||
Śakra disse: «Ela chega a dar ordens ao próprio marido e, chamando-o, fala-lhe com uma familiaridade arrogante. Na presença mesma da sogra e do sogro, a nora começa a mandar nos servos da casa. Dá ordens até ao esposo e, diante de todos, chama-o e lhe dirige a palavra.»
शक्र उवाच
The passage highlights norms of household dharma: restraint in speech, respect toward elders, and avoiding public humiliation or domination within family relationships—especially between spouses and in the presence of in-laws.
Śakra describes a situation of domestic impropriety: a daughter-in-law openly commands servants and even her husband, summoning and addressing him publicly before the elders of the house, indicating a breakdown of respectful familial conduct.
