Śakra disse: “Ao alcançar o verdadeiro entendimento, o homem atravessa e dissipa toda mancha de má ação. Livre do pecado, obtém a qualidade de sattva, a pureza do ser; estabelecido nessa pureza, torna-se plenamente sereno e lúcido.”

Discernment (buddhi) is presented as a purifying power: when right understanding arises, it eradicates moral defilement (kilbiṣa). From that purification comes sattva—clarity and goodness—and when one abides in sattva, the mind settles into deep serenity (samprasāda).
In Śānti Parva’s instruction-oriented setting, Śakra (Indra) speaks a concise doctrinal point: wisdom is not merely intellectual but ethically transformative, leading from the removal of sin to the establishment of sattva and finally to inner peace.
