Adhyāya 222 — ब्रह्मस्थानप्राप्ति: मोक्षधर्मे समत्वव्रतम्
Attaining the Brahman-Station: The Vow of Equanimity in Mokṣadharma
स्वभावभाविनो भावान् सव्वनिवेह निश्चयात् | बुद्धयमानस्य दर्पो वा मानो वा कि करिष्यति
svabhāvabhāvino bhāvān sarvaniveha niścayāt | buddhyamānasya darpo vā māno vā kiṁ kariṣyati ||
Todos os estados e disposições surgem da própria natureza. Quando alguém sabe isso com firme certeza, que mal podem lhe causar o orgulho ou a presunção?
प्रह्माद उवाच
When one clearly understands that all qualities and mental states arise according to inherent nature (svabhāva), the grounds for egoistic pride and conceit collapse; thus arrogance cannot disturb such a person’s conduct or judgment.
