स तु देहाद्‌ यथा देहं त्यक्त्वान्यं प्रतिपद्यते । तथान्यं सम्प्रवक्ष्यामि भूतग्रामं स्वकर्मजम्‌

sa tu dehād yathā dehaṁ tyaktvānyaṁ pratipadyate | tathānyaṁ sampravakṣyāmi bhūtagrāmaṁ svakarmajam ||

Bhishma disse: “Assim como o eu encarnado, deixando um corpo, alcança outro, assim também te explicarei como a multidão de seres vivos—gerada de acordo com os próprios atos—vem a assumir outra encarnação.”
