सूक्ष्मेण मनसा विद्यो वाचा वक्तुंन शकक्‍्नुम: । मनो हि मनसा ग्राहां दर्शनेन च दर्शनम्‌

Transliteration

bhīṣma uvāca | sūkṣmeṇa manasā vidyo vācā vaktuṃ na śaknumaḥ | mano hi manasā grāhyaṃ darśanena ca darśanam |

Translation

Disse Bhīṣma: Com a mente refinada até uma pureza sutil, podemos apreender diretamente a Realidade Suprema; contudo, não somos capazes de expressá-La por meio da fala. Pois os objetos da mente são apreendidos apenas pela mente, e a visão (o ver direto) é conhecida apenas pela própria visão.
