जपयोगयोः तुल्यफलनिर्णयः
Adhyāya 193: Adjudication of the Comparable Fruits of Japa and Yoga
जो लोभ और मोहसे युक्त हो एक दूसरेको खा जानेके लिये उद्यत रहते हैं, वे भी इसी लोकमें आवागमन करते रहते हैं, उत्तरदिशाके उत्कृष्ट लोकमें नहीं जाने पाते हैं ।।
bharadvāja uvāca | ye lobha-mohābhyāṁ yuktā anyonyam khāditum udyatāḥ santi, te ’pi asmin loke punar-āvartante; na tu uttaradiśaḥ utkṛṣṭaṁ lokaṁ gacchanti || ye gurūn paryupāsante niyatā brahmacāriṇaḥ, manasendriyāṇi saṁyamya; panthānaṁ sarva-lokānāṁ vijānanti manīṣiṇaḥ ||
Bharadvāja disse: “Aqueles que estão presos à cobiça e à ilusão, sempre prontos a devorar uns aos outros, continuam a girar neste mesmo mundo; não alcançam o excelente reino da direção do norte. Mas os brahmacārins disciplinados, que refreiam mente e sentidos e servem devotamente aos seus mestres—esses sábios vêm a conhecer os caminhos que conduzem a todos os mundos.”
भरद्वाज उवाच
Greed and delusion keep beings trapped in mutual harm and repeated worldly return, whereas disciplined restraint of mind and senses, together with reverent service to one’s teacher, leads to true discernment of the higher paths and attainments.
Bharadvāja contrasts two human types: the greed-driven who remain bound to saṁsāra, and the regulated brahmacārins who serve their gurus and thereby gain wisdom about the routes to various realms, including superior destinations.
