On Gratitude and Friendship Ethics
वैशम्पायन उवाच तस्य तद् वचन श्रुत्वा माद्रीपुत्रस्य धीमतः । स तु कौशलसंयुक्तं सूक्ष्मचित्रार्थसम्मतम्
vaiśampāyana uvāca | tasya tad vacanaṃ śrutvā mādrīputrasya dhīmataḥ | sa tu kauśalasaṃyuktaṃ sūkṣmacitrārthasammatam |
Vaiśampāyana disse: Ao ouvir aquelas palavras do sábio filho de Mādrī (Nakula), Bhīṣma—conhecedor do dharma e plenamente consumado na ciência do arco, deitado em seu leito de flechas—percebeu que a afirmação não era apenas habilmente formulada, mas também sutil e rica em sentidos matizados. Então começou a responder a Nakula, o magnânimo discípulo instruído por Droṇa, com fala de tom agradável e sílabas bem articuladas.
