निशम्य दानवा: सर्वे हृष्टा: समभिदुद्रुवु: । भयानक कर्म करनेकी इच्छासे वैसा ही रूप धारण करनेवाले रुद्रदेवको देखकर समस्त दानव हर्ष और उत्साहमें भरकर उनके ऊपर टूट पड़े
niśamya dānavāḥ sarve hṛṣṭāḥ samabhidudruvuḥ | bhayānaka-karma-karaṇecchayā tathaiva rūpaṃ dhārayantaṃ rudradevaṃ dṛṣṭvā samastā dānavā harṣotsāhena pūritāḥ tasyaivopari prapetuḥ |
Disse Bhishma: Ao ouvir isso, todos os Dānavas, jubilantes, avançaram juntos. Ao verem Rudra—que assumira uma forma condizente com sua intenção de realizar feitos terríveis—encheram-se de exaltação e ardor guerreiro e lançaram-se sobre ele.
