अलं स्थित्वा श्मशाने5स्मिन् गृध्रगोमायुसंकुले । कड्कालबहुले रौद्रे सर्वप्राणिभयड्करे
alaṁ sthitvā śmaśāne 'smin gṛdhra-gomāyu-saṅkule | kaṅkāla-bahule raudre sarva-prāṇi-bhayaṅkare ||
Disse Bhishma: “Basta de permanecer neste campo de cremação—apinhado de abutres e chacais, densamente coberto de esqueletos, terrível e amedrontador para todos os seres vivos. Não deveis ficar aqui; não há proveito em demorar-se num lugar assim.”
