The Dove’s Lament and Celestial Reunion
कृतबुद्धि्द्रूमे तस्मिन् वस्तुं तां रजनी ततः । साञ्जलि: प्रणतिं कृत्वा वाक्यमाह वनस्पतिम्
kṛtabuddhidrūme tasmin vastuṃ tāṃ rajanī tataḥ | sāñjaliḥ praṇatiṃ kṛtvā vākyam āha vanaspatim ||
Então, decidida a passar ali aquela noite, aproximou-se daquela árvore—descrita como uma “árvore de entendimento firme”. Com as mãos postas em reverência e após inclinar-se, dirigiu palavras respeitosas ao senhor da floresta.
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic etiquette: even when seeking simple shelter, one approaches with humility, reverence, and restrained speech—treating nature (here, a tree) as worthy of respect rather than as a mere object for use.
