The Dove’s Lament and Celestial Reunion
नैव निम्नं स्थलं वापि सो$5विन्दत विहड़हा । पूरितो हि जलौघेन तस्य मार्गो वनस्य च,वनका मार्ग जिसपर वह चलता था, जलके प्रवाहमें डूब गया था। उस बहेलियेको नीची-ऊँची भूमिका कुछ पता नहीं चलता था
naiva nimnaṃ sthalaṃ vāpi so 'vindata vihaṅgamaḥ | pūrito hi jalaughena tasya mārgo vanasya ca ||
Disse Bhīṣma: O caçador de aves não conseguia distinguir terreno baixo de terreno alto. Pois a torrente havia inundado o caminho que ele seguia, e até as trilhas da floresta estavam submersas—de modo que já não sabia onde ficava a passagem.
भीष्म उवाच
When circumstances become overwhelming—like a flood erasing paths—human judgment can fail; ethical conduct then requires caution, restraint, and reliance on sound guidance rather than impulsive action.
Bhishma describes a situation where a bird-catcher/hunter is disoriented because floodwaters have submerged both the route and the forest paths, making it impossible to distinguish safe ground or direction.
