जनकस्य युद्धोपदेशः — Janaka’s Instruction on Steadfast Battle-Conduct
हर्षयेयुविंषण्णांश्व व्यवस्थाप्य परस्परम् । जितां च भूमिं रक्षेत भग्नान् नात्यनुसारयेत्
harṣayeya viṣaṇṇānś ca vyavasthāpya parasparam | jitāṃ ca bhūmiṃ rakṣeta bhagnān nātyanusarayet ||
Disse Bhīṣma: Se as próprias tropas se abatem ou começam a afrouxar, o comandante deve restaurá-las à formação correta, dispondo-as em apoio mútuo, e elevar-lhes a alegria e o ânimo de combate. Deve assegurar e proteger o terreno já conquistado; mas não deve perseguir o inimigo em debandada por demasiado longe, ainda que fuja derrotado.
