Balarāma’s Pilgrimage Context
ऋषिदृष्टेन विधिना समा बह्दी: समाहित: । भारत! संन्यासीके रूपमें वहाँ आये हुए महामुनि जैगीषव्यको देखकर देवल उनके प्रति अत्यन्त गौरव और महान् प्रेम प्रकट करते तथा यथाशक्ति शास्त्रीय विधिसे एकाग्रचित्त हो उनका पूजन (आदर-सत्कार) किया करते थे। बहुत वर्षोतक उन्होंने ऐसा ही किया ।। कदाचित् तस्य नृपते देवलस्य महात्मन:
ṛṣidṛṣṭena vidhinā samā bahvīḥ samāhitaḥ | bhārata! saṃnyāsike rūpeṇa tatra āgatam mahāmuniṃ jaigīṣavyaṃ dṛṣṭvā devalaḥ tasya prati atyantaṃ gauravaṃ mahān prema ca prakāśayan yathāśakti śāstrīya-vidhinā ekāgracitto bhūtvā tasya pūjanaṃ (ādara-satkāraṃ) karoti sma | bahūn varṣān tādṛśam eva cakāra || kadācit tasya nṛpate devalasya mahātmanaḥ
