क्षुरेण शितधारेण उत्पपात महावने । महोदरस्य तल्लग्नं जंघायां वै यदृच्छया

kṣureṇa śitadhāreṇa utpapāta mahāvane | mahodarasya tallagnaṃ jaṅghāyāṃ vai yadṛcchayā ||

Vaiśampāyana disse: Naquela grande floresta, uma lâmina como navalha, de gume fino e cortante, irrompeu de súbito; por mero acaso, ficou cravada na canela de Mahodara. O episódio mostra como, em meio à violência e ao desregramento, o dano pode surgir inesperadamente e sem intenção — lembrando a precariedade da vida e o peso moral dos atos que soltam o caos.
