Commencement of the Śalya–Yudhiṣṭhira Duel
सात्यकि: प्रेक्ष्य समरे मद्रराजमवस्थितम् | विव्याध दशभिर्बाणैस्तिष्ठ तिछेति चाब्रवीत्,सात्यकिने समरांगणमें खड़े हुए मद्रराजको देखकर उन्हें दस बाणोंसे बीध डाला और कहा--'खड़े रहो, खड़े रहो”
sātyakiḥ prekṣya samare madrarājam avasthitam | vivyādha daśabhir bāṇais tiṣṭha tiṣṭheti cābravīt |
Sañjaya disse: Vendo o rei de Madra firme no combate, Sātyaki traspassou-o com dez flechas e bradou: “Mantém-te de pé—mantém-te!” O momento realça o código do guerreiro: enfrentar abertamente um adversário digno e desafiá-lo a permanecer resoluto mesmo sob o ataque.
