Adhyaya 11 — Draupadī’s Grief, Demand for Justice, and Bhīma’s Departure
सा समाश्चासिता तेन भीमसेनेन भामिनी । उसे गिरी हुई देख क्रोधमें भरे हुए सत्यपराक्रमी भीमसेनने उछलकर दोनों बाँहोंसे उसको उठा लिया और उस मानिनी पत्नीको धीरज बँधाया
sā samāśvāsitā tena bhīmasenena bhāminī |
Vaiśampāyana disse: A dama orgulhosa foi consolada por Bhīmasena. Ao vê-la caída, Bhīmasena—de valor verdadeiro e inabalável, tomado de ira—saltou à frente, ergueu-a com ambos os braços e, com palavras de alento, firmou o ânimo de sua nobre esposa.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even in the aftermath of war and rage, dharma includes protecting the vulnerable and restoring courage. Bhīma’s strength is shown not only in battle but in compassionate support—an ethical reminder that power should serve care and responsibility.
The narrator describes Bhīmasena seeing his wife (referred to as bhāminī) fallen in distress. Enraged yet steadfast, he quickly lifts her with both arms and consoles her, helping her regain composure amid the traumatic events of the Sauptika Parva.
