Shloka 20

रत्या मत्या च गत्या च ययाहमभिसन्धिता । जीवितप्रियतां महां धिड़मां संक्लेशभागिनीम्‌

ratyā matyā ca gatyā ca yayāham abhisandhitā | jīvitapriyatāṁ mahāṁ dhiḍḍhāmāṁ saṅkleśabhāginīm ||

Vaiśaṃpāyana disse: “Pelo afeto dela, pelo discernimento e pela conduta nobre, ela me influenciou de tal modo que fui constrangido a continuar vivendo, esquecendo minha própria resolução. Maldita seja esta grande apego à vida em mim—esta parcela de sofrimento—por causa da qual devo suportar tamanha angústia.”
