Escalation of Wagers and Shakuni’s Repeated Declarations of Victory
स राजगृहमासाद्य कुबेरभवनोपमम् | अभ्यागच्छत धर्मात्मा धर्मपुत्रं युधिष्ठिरम्,कुबेरके भवनके समान सुशोभित राजमहलमें जाकर धर्मात्मा विदुर धर्मपुत्र युधिष्ठिरसे मिले। सत्यवादी महात्मा अजमीढनन्दन अजातशत्रु राजा युधिष्ठिरने विदुरजीका यथावत् आदर-सत्कार करके उनसे पुत्रसहित धृतराष्ट्रकी कुशल पूछी
sa rājagṛham āsādya kuberabhavanopamam | abhyāgacchat dharmātmā dharmaputraṁ yudhiṣṭhiram ||
Tendo alcançado o palácio real—esplêndido como a mansão de Kubera—o justo Vidura foi ao encontro de Yudhiṣṭhira, filho de Dharma. Yudhiṣṭhira, veraz e magnânimo, recebeu Vidura com a devida honra e hospitalidade; e então indagou sobre o bem-estar de Dhṛtarāṣṭra e de seus filhos—preservando a ética do respeito, do parentesco e da conduta correta mesmo em meio à tensão política.
