उभौ बलभूतौ वीरावुभौ तीव्रपराक्रमौ । निर्जित्याजी महाराज वज्भराजमुपाद्रवत्
ubhau balabhūtau vīrāv ubhau tīvraparākramau | nirjityājī mahārāja vaṅgarājam upādravat ||
Vaiśampāyana disse: Ambos eram guerreiros poderosos, ambos dotados de um valor feroz e irresistível. Tendo derrotado o adversário na batalha, ó Rei, Bhīmasena prosseguiu e atacou o rei de Vaṅga. A passagem ressalta o ímpeto incansável da conquista numa campanha régia: à vitória segue-se de imediato nova agressão, evidenciando a tensão ética entre o dever guerreiro do kṣatriya e o crescente impulso de dominação.
