Samrāt-Lakṣaṇa and the Counsel to Check Jarāsandha

The passage highlights dharma expressed as responsibility: forming rightful alliances (marriage given with consent and propriety) and protecting one’s community by removing oppressive forces. Personal power is framed as service to kin and social order rather than self-interest.
Kṛṣṇa recounts past actions: arranging Sutanū’s marriage to Akrūra, acting together with Balarāma to accomplish obligations toward their own people, and the slaying of Kaṃsa (and Sunāmā as named here) as part of restoring rightful order.
