Educational Q&A

The verse underscores dharmic conduct: one should understand the essence of a wise teacher’s counsel and act with propriety—seeking permission, honoring authority, and departing only after receiving leave.

Vaiśampāyana narrates to King Janamejaya that Arjuna, after comprehending Vyāsa’s instruction, formally takes permission and proceeds to Hastināpura, marking a transition to the next phase of events.
