हत्वा तान् पुरुषव्याप्र: पज्चालानां महारथ:
hatvā tān puruṣavyāpraḥ pāñcālānāṃ mahārathaḥ
Sañjaya disse: “Tendo-os abatido, o grande guerreiro de carro dos Pāñcālas —enérgico, plenamente entregue ao esforço viril— prosseguiu na batalha. O verso ressalta o ímpeto implacável da guerra, em que a destreza e o dever no combate são narrados lado a lado com o grave peso moral de tirar vidas.”
