The verse highlights ethical steadiness in a dharmic crisis: after being urged by allies, Arjuna recollects his own svabhāva and the larger purpose of his presence in war, then acts through deliberate counsel with Kṛṣṇa rather than through impulse.
Sañjaya narrates that Bhīma and Kṛṣṇa press Arjuna to act; Arjuna reflects, reassesses the situation and his mission on the battlefield, and then turns to Kṛṣṇa (Keśava) to speak—signaling a decisive shift from hesitation to purposeful engagement.
