तत् तादृशं प्रेक्ष्य महारथस्य कर्णस्य वीर्य च परैरसहाम् । दृष्टवा च कर्णेन धनंजयस्य तथा5डजिमध्ये निहतं तदस्त्रम्
tad tādṛśaṁ prekṣya mahārathasya karṇasya vīryaṁ ca parair asahām | dṛṣṭvā ca karṇena dhanaṁjayasya tathā raṇamadhye nihataṁ tad astram |
Sañjaya disse: “Ao ver tal proeza do grande guerreiro de carro Karṇa—uma energia intolerável para os inimigos—e ao ver também que, no meio da batalha, Karṇa neutralizara aquela arma de Dhanañjaya (Arjuna), Bhīmasena, o filho de Vāyu, incapaz de suportar, começou a arder de ira. Seus olhos flamejaram de cólera; ressentimento e fúria irromperam em seu peito, e ele falou assim a Arjuna, firme guardião de seus votos.”
