तेषां च पार्थस्य च मारिषासीद् देहासुपापक्षपणं सुयुद्धम् । त्रैलोक्यहेतोरसुरैर्यथा55सीद् देवस्य विष्णोर्जयतां वरस्य,मान्यवर! फिर तो त्रिलोकीके राज्यके लिये जैसे असुरोंके साथ भगवान् विष्णुका युद्ध हुआ था, उसी प्रकार विजयी वीरोंमें श्रेष्ठ कुन्तीकुमार अर्जुनका उन योद्धाओंके साथ घोर संग्राम होने लगा जो उनके शरीर, प्राण और पापोंका विनाश करनेवाला था
teṣāṁ ca pārthasya ca māriṣāsīd dehāsu-pāpa-kṣapaṇaṁ su-yuddham | trailokya-hetor asurair yathāsīd devasya viṣṇor jayatāṁ varasya ||
Sañjaya disse: Então surgiu, ó venerável, uma batalha feroz e nobre entre aqueles guerreiros e Pārtha (Arjuna)—um combate que destruía corpos e vidas e servia como expiação de pecados. Foi como a guerra outrora travada pelo deus Viṣṇu, o melhor entre os vitoriosos, contra os Asuras pela soberania dos três mundos.

Sañjaya reports that a dreadful, decisive clash begins between Arjuna and the opposing warriors. The intensity is likened to Viṣṇu’s ancient conflict with the Asuras for dominion over the three worlds, emphasizing the scale and gravity of the encounter.
