Shloka 72

इस प्रकार श्रीमह्याभारत कर्णपर्वनें श्रीकृष्ण और अर्जुनका संवादविषयक बहत्तरवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ

apaśyaṁ nihataṁ vīraṁ saubhadram ṛṣabhekṣaṇam | droṇadrauṇikṛpān vīrān karṣayantaṁ nararṣabhān ||

Disse Vāyu: “Vi Abhimanyu, o heróico filho de Subhadrā—de olhos como os de um touro—jazendo morto, mesmo quando vinha acossando e pressionando duramente aqueles guerreiros, touros entre os homens: Droṇa, o filho de Droṇa (Aśvatthāmā) e Kṛpa. A visão desse nobre jovem, que aumentava a glória das linhagens Kuru e Vṛṣṇi e, ainda assim, foi abatido no aperto da batalha, queima-me os próprios membros; e juro pela verdade que, mesmo nessa afronta, atuava a intenção traiçoeira de Karṇa.”
