य एक: पाण्डवीं सेनां शरौचै: समवेष्टयत् । त॑ं समासाद्य पञ्चाला भीष्म नासन् पराड्मुखा:
ya ekaḥ pāṇḍavīṁ senāṁ śarauśaiḥ samaveṣṭayat | taṁ samāsādya pañcālā bhīṣma nāsan parāṅmukhāḥ ||
Disse Sañjaya: Aquele que, sozinho, envolveu o exército dos Pāṇḍavas com uma densa chuva de flechas—quando os Pāñcālas o alcançaram, ó Bhīṣma, não voltaram as costas. Diante de um único guerreiro formidável, mantiveram-se firmes, mostrando coragem constante sob o peso moral da guerra.
