अध्याय ६० — कर्णस्य पाञ्चाल-सोमक-निग्रहः
Karna’s Suppression of the Panchala–Somaka Forces
दुःशासन: सौबलश्न गजानीकेन पाण्डवम् । महता परिवार्यव क्षुद्रकैरभ्यताडयत्
sañjaya uvāca | duḥśāsanaḥ saubalena gajānīkena pāṇḍavam | mahatā parivārya vai kṣudrakair abhyatāḍayat ||
Sañjaya disse: Duḥśāsana, juntamente com Śakuni, filho de Subala, cercou o Pāṇḍava (Bhimasena) com um grande corpo de elefantes e então começou a golpeá-lo repetidas vezes com saraivadas de flechas. A cena mostra como, no frenesi da guerra, força e número são usados para esmagar um único inimigo — imagem de hostilidade movida pelo adharma, e não de combate justo.
