कर्णेन युधिष्ठिरानीकविदारणम् / Karṇa’s Breach of Yudhiṣṭhira’s Battle-Line
रथेन महता राजन्नुपमा नास्ति यस्य ह । राजन्! तदनन्तर जिसकी कहीं उपमा नहीं थी, उस विशाल रथके द्वारा देवेश्वर महादेवजी समस्त देवताओंसे घिरे हुए वहाँसे चल दिये
rathena mahatā rājann upamā nāsti yasya ha |
Bhīṣma disse: “Ó rei, então Mahādeva, o Senhor dos deuses—cercado por todas as divindades—partiu daquele lugar num vasto carro, sem igual em parte alguma.”
पितामह उवाच
The verse underscores the supremacy and incomparable majesty of the divine (Mahādeva), suggesting that worldly measures of comparison fail before transcendent power; it also frames divine presence as a source of awe and moral authority within the epic’s ethical universe.
Bhīṣma narrates that Mahādeva, attended by the assembled gods, departs from the scene in an immense, incomparable chariot—marking a decisive transition after a divine appearance or intervention.
