कर्णपर्व — पञ्चदशोऽध्यायः | Karṇa Parva, Chapter 15: Pāṇḍya’s Advance and Aśvatthāmā’s Counterstroke
पार्थ: संशप्तकबलं प्रविश्यार्णवसंनिभम् | व्यक्षो भयदमित्रघ्नो महावात इवार्णवम्,शत्रुनाशक अर्जुनने समुद्रके समान अपार संशप्तक-सेनामें प्रवेश करके उसे उसी प्रकार क्षुब्ध कर डाला, जैसे प्रचण्ड वायु सागरमें ज्वार उठा देती है

pārthaḥ saṁśaptaka-balaṁ praviśyārṇava-saṁnibham |
vyakṣo bhayadam-itraghno mahāvāta ivārṇavam ||
Sañjaya disse: Arjuna, filho de Pṛthā, lançou-se no meio do exército dos Saṁśaptakas, vasto como um oceano; e ele, o matador de inimigos que inspira temor, revolveu-o e o lançou em tumulto, como um vento poderoso agita o mar.
