Alāyudha’s Resolve to Confront Bhīma
The verse highlights how truthful, trusted speech can intensify righteous inspiration: Sañjaya’s boundless joy arises from hearing a ‘dear report’ directly from Kṛṣṇa, and it culminates in honoring Arjuna’s wise, extraordinary valor—suggesting that discernment (buddhi) and heroic effort (parākrama) are to be celebrated when aligned with dharma.
Sañjaya addresses Kṛṣṇa with affectionate epithets (‘lotus-eyed’) and says that hearing pleasing news from Kṛṣṇa has made his joy limitless. He uses an ocean-crossing simile to express the immeasurable nature of his delight, then credits Arjuna with performing an astonishing act of prowess.
