भीष्मस्य भीमसेन-निरोधः

Bhīṣma checks Bhīmasena; matched engagements intensify

विश्वावसुर्विश्वमूर्ति वि श्लेशो विष्वक्सेनो विश्वकर्मा वशी च । विश्वेश्वरो वासुदेवो$सि तस्माद्‌ योगात्मान दैवतं त्वामुपैमि,प्रभो! आप सम्पूर्ण विश्वको आच्छादित करनेवाले, विश्वस्वरूप और विश्वके स्वामी हैं। विश्वमें सब ओर आपकी सेना है। यह विश्व आपका कार्य है। आप सबको अपने वशमें रखनेवाले हैं। इसीलिये आपको विश्वेश्वर और वासुदेव कहते हैं। आप योगस्वरूप देवता हैं, मैं आपकी शरणमें आया हूँ

bhīṣma uvāca |

viśvāvasur viśvamūrtir viśleṣo viṣvakseno viśvakarmā vaśī ca |

viśveśvaro vāsudevo 'si tasmād yogātman daivataṁ tvām upaimi prabho ||

Bhīṣma disse: “Tu és a presença que tudo permeia, a própria forma do universo; aquele que separa e dissolve; o Senhor cujas forças estão por toda parte; o artífice cósmico e o soberano controlador. Por isso és chamado Senhor do universo e Vāsudeva. Ó Senhor, tu és a divindade cuja essência é o Yoga; em ti me refugio.”
