Daiva–Puruṣakāra Discourse and the Elephant-Corps Engagement (भीमगजानीक-सम्भ्रान्ति)
केचिदग्रासिना छिन्ना: पाण्डवेन महात्मना । विनेदुर्भिन्नमर्माणो निपेतुश्चव गतासव:
sañjaya uvāca | kecid agrāsiṇā chinnāḥ pāṇḍavena mahātmanā | vinedur bhinnamarmāṇo nipetuś ca gatāsavaḥ ||
Sañjaya disse: Alguns foram abatidos pelo poderoso filho de Pāṇḍu com sua espada; seus pontos vitais foram despedaçados e, clamando de dor, caíram à terra sem vida. O verso ressalta a sombria imediaticidade da batalha—onde proeza e dever no campo se manifestam como consequências rápidas e irreversíveis para os seres encarnados.
