भीष्मधनंजयद्वैरथम्
Bhīṣma–Dhanaṃjaya Duel and the Opening Clash
स तैर्विद्धो महेष्वास: समन्तान्निशितै: शरै:
sa tair viddho maheṣvāsaḥ samantān niśitaiḥ śaraiḥ
Sañjaya disse: Atingido de todos os lados pelas flechas agudas, cortantes como lâminas, daqueles guerreiros, o grande arqueiro permaneceu de pé, trespassado no meio do tumulto—imagem de como, na guerra, até os poderosos devem suportar as consequências da hostilidade coletiva e da agressão incessante.
