समन्ततश्न दृश्यन्ते पतिता धरणीतले । बाणोंकी वेदनासे आतुर हो पताकाओंसहित बड़े-बड़े हाथी चारों दिशाओंमें चक्कर काट रहे थे। नरेन्द्र! गदा, शक्ति और धनुष धारण किये हुए बहुत-से क्षत्रिय सब ओर पृथ्वीपर पड़े दृष्टिगोचर हो रहे थे || ६१ है ।।

Transliteration

samantataś ca dṛśyante patitā dharaṇītale |

Translation

Disse Sañjaya: Por todos os lados viam-se guerreiros caídos ao chão. O campo de batalha estava coalhado de corpos de muitos kṣatriya—reis e combatentes que empunhavam maças, lanças e arcos—revelando o terrível custo da ira e da rivalidade quando o dharma é eclipsado pela compulsão de vencer.
